How is the closet shelving mounted?

This is an "off the floor" mounting system.  We utilize three universal bracket types that are secured onto the walls.  The shelves are then locked into the brackets.  Since the shelving covers the majority of the brackets, minimal hardware is in view.  Because the closet system is raised, floor space is open and clear of any obstructions.

What if my cut measurement is located in the middle of a shelf slat?

There are two ways to handle this.  One - The size of the shelf end bracket allows for short cuts. Therefore you may cut at the nearest slat side of your measurement.  Two - Make your cut using a fine-toothed straight handsaw.  Place the cut slat side facing the sidewall.

Can I mix 12 inch shelving with a 16 inch shelves and tower?

Can I use the pass-through garment bar on a 12-inch shelf or the wood garment bar on a 16-inch Shelf?

Yes.  Each garment bar style is interchangeable between closet solution types. Since these are classified as custom modifications, download the individual part instructions for installation process.  Install »

Where do I locate the J-Hook when using a 12-inch Wood Angle Bracket?

Follow the normal installation instructions BUT place the metal J-Hook FLUSH with the front of the wood angle bracket.  Do NOT measure back 3 inches from the front.  Placing the J-Hook flush to front enables adequate space for clothing.

Will moisture have an effect?

To prevent warping, the manufacturer, John Louis Home uses only quality kiln dried wood. The wood is treated and the multi-layered finish process blocks moisture intake. As with any natural product, warping may occur when used in areas that contain overly excessive amounts of moisture.
